Port Canaveral has been named "Best North American Homeport" in this year’s Cruise Critic U.S. Editors’ Picks Awards. Carnival Corporation & plc on October 8 officially completed construction of a third berth at its Puerta Maya pier in Cozumel, Mexico’s top cruise port by passenger volume. The pier will accommodate any ship across Carnival Corporation's 10 brands, including its next-generation ships.

The City of Port Hueneme and the Oxnard Harbor District/Port of Hueneme last week made a formal commitment to work collaboratively and settle areas of dispute pertaining to contracts that provide for revenue sharing between the district and city. The agreement terminates the litigation, and clarifies and updates the existing revenue sharing contracts to set forth a mutual understanding of how the contracts work and will be interpreted.

Roy Griggs was sworn in last month as the city of Shreveport’s appointee to the Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey has hired George Anderson, a 30-year veteran of the New York City Police Department, as director of world trade center security. Lindsay Pulsifer has been confirmed as managing director of the Port of Seattle’s maritime division by Port CEO Ted J. Fick. She had served as the division’s interim manager since August.
The first three Ship-to-Shore (STS) container cranes and two rail mounted cranes for the intermodal rail facility have been delivered to APM Terminals’ Container Terminal 2, now in the final stages of construction at Lázaro Cárdenas, Mexico’s second-largest container port. Scheduled to open in early 2016 with an annual throughput capacity of 1.2 million TEUs, TEC2 will be able to berth two 15,000 TEU container vessels simultaneously.
