Container cargo numbers improved slightly at the Port of Long Beach in May, up 0.8 percent from a year ago when business was recovering from several months of congestion. Throughput at Port of Los Angeles, reached 770,409 TEUs in May, an increase of nearly 11 percent from last year and the port’s busiest May ever. May was fifth consecutive grown month for containerized exports at the Port of Oakland reports containerized cargo exports increased in May for the fifth straight month. The Port of Virginia reports container traffic for the year through May totaled nearly 1.1 million TEUs, a 2.0 percent increase compared to January-May 2015.
