Four brand new ship-to-shore Neo-Panamax cranes carried aboard the heavy lift ship M/V Swan sailed into the Savannah River Wednesday, November 22, headed for the Georgia Ports Authority’s Garden City Terminal.  PhilaPort has concluded an agreement for the purchase of two super post-Panamax container gantry cranes from a Chinese manufacturer for $23.5 million.  The deal brings to four the number of new cranes ordered for Packer Avenue Marine Terminal within the year.
 
Port of Oakland Commissioners on November 30 gave their final approval to a plan that calls for the development of a Seaport Logistics Complex on the site of decommissioned U.S. Army base. 
 
The Port of Prince Rupert generated more than C $1 billion in economic output for Northern British Columbia in 2016, according to the newly released findings of a study commissioned by the port authority.

The $58 million 2018 strategic budget adopted by the Bellingham Port Commission includes significant investments in marine trades infrastructure, environmental cleanup, and ongoing development of the downtown waterfront.  The Port of Seattle Commissioners on November 28 adopted a 2018 budget that returns income from port operations to benefit businesses and travelers, expands opportunities for local communities, and protects the quality of life for people and the environment. 
 
The governing board of the Port of Los Angeles has approved $435,289 in Harbor Community Benefit Foundation (HCBF) grants that focus on environmental capital improvements, educational programs, and health and safety initiatives.
 
 
   
Port Canaveral officially opened the doors to a new Port Security Operations Center with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting on November 29.
 
 
   
PortMiami set a world record by processing more than 5.3 million cruise travelers in fiscal year 2016-2017. That was up from 4.98 million the previous year and 4.92 million in FY 2014-15. The Port of Montréal welcomed 114,517 passengers and crew members during the 2017 cruise season, a 33 percent increase compared to 2016 and 140 percent since 2011.
 
Dr. Michelle Corfield was elected chair of the Nanaimo Port Authority board of directors following the resignation November 22 of Moira Jenkins.  Elected vice chair was Donna Hais, a federal appointee who has represented the Lessee User Group on the port authority board since October 30, 2014.  The Canadian federal government recently appointed Craig T. Munroe to the board of directors of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority for a term of three years commencing November 15, 2017.
