AAPA Sustaining Member Cavotec manufactured the cable reels being used in new, record-breaking cranes at the Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) in Malaysia. The cranes are also the second tallest STS cranes currently in service. Port of Portland has created a new option for moving container freight by way of a railway partnership at Terminal 6. The new service, in partnership with BNSF Railway, will move containers between Portland and Seattle/Tacoma, where goods can be loaded onto ocean carriers. Port Tampa Bay has secured a deal with Integral Energy to bring a new fueling station. The project will occupy 5.7 acres of land on port property, and will also house a convenience store as well as a restaurant.

Shipments of limestone on the Great Lakes totaled 28 million tons in 2017, an increase of 6.4 percent compared to 2016.
