Port Canaveral Historian George P. Kistner III has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Brevard County Historical Commission. The Port of New Orleans has appointed William H. Langenstein, III to its Board of Commissioners. North Carolina Ports has announced the addition of maritime industry veteran Benjamin M. Massa as its new Director of Carrier and Trade Development. 
 
The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay (OIPCB) completed dredging operations at the Port of Garibaldi this month, utilizing the state-owned dredge, THE LAURA, to remove 32,000 cubic yards of material.  Port Freeport Commissioners called for a $130 million bond election that would be used to pay for the deepening and partial widening of the Freeport Harbor Channel when coupled with approximately $165 million in federal funds.
 
Port Windsor saw total cargo increase in 2017 by almost 7 percent. The most significant gain was registered at the K+S Windsor Salt Company with shipments increasing by 20 percent to almost 2.2 million tons.  
 
 
   
Port Manatee hosted International Trade Commissioners of Florida (INTRADE) representatives from Canada, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru and Spain during a meeting held at the port in February.
 
 
   
Connecticut Port Authority has seen an increase in bulk road salt and other general breakbulk cargo at the Port of New London because of tits partnership with Logistec. AAPA Sustaining Member DHI Water & Environment, Inc. has expanded its footprint to now include an Ecology and Environment Department. 
 
The Port of Seattle Commission approved funds to address a shortage of local construction workers and to broaden access to job and training opportunities for underrepresented populations in the industry.  
 
Fitch Ratings has upgraded the Hawaii Department of Transportation Harbors Division’s revenue bonds Series 2010 A and 2010 B ratings to ‘AA-’ from ‘A+’ and revised their outlook to stable from positive.
