The Government of Canada announced a major investment of $18.4 million for the Port of Montréal that will help local businesses compete by moving commercial goods to market, and create more jobs for the middle class. Nanaimo Port Authority (NPA) is partnering with Western Stevedoring (Western) and their affiliate organization, the Auto Division of SSA Marine (SSA) to design, build, finance and operate a multipurpose break bulk terminal at NPA’s Nanaimo Assembly Wharf (NAW). The Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners has approved a new RV park for the Chula Vista Bayfront.
 
 
   
The Port of Baltimore handled 38.4 million tons of cargo in 2017, the most since 1979 and the third-highest tonnage in its history. The Georgia Ports Authority achieved 14 percent growth in March container volumes, moving 355,208 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit containers). Port Manatee has achieved numerous cargo records in the first half of its current fiscal year and is on pace to shatter several full-year marks. The Port of Vancouver USA has logged record-breaking cargo tonnage, with 2017 coming in at 7.5 million metric tons, up slightly from the 2016 record of 7.49 million metric tons. The Port of Virginia processed 252,230 TEUs in March, pushing the port’s growth thus far in fiscal year 2018 to 4.4 percent
 
 
   
The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) received an Environmental Leadership Award from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), for the success of its Clean Truck Replacement Incentive Program (Clean TRIP) which used federal and state clean diesel grants to voluntarily improve air quality by replacing old diesel cargo trucks with new, cleaner-burning models.
