The Port of Long Beach and six other international seaports have been recognized for advancing innovative environmental initiatives and are combining forces to launch the "World Ports Climate Action Program." The Port of Los Angeles has released a Recirculated Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (Draft SEIR) for the Berths 97-109 [China Shipping] Container Terminal Project located in San Pedro. The Port of San Diego has earned a Gold Tier iCommute Diamond Award for Excellence in Commute Programs for Fiscal Year 2018 from the San Diego Association of Governments.
 
The Duluth Seaway Port Authority has welcomed Dean Lembke as its new facilities manager. Dean will serve as the agency’s liaison with tenants, service and government agencies, private contractors and other property users to derive safe and efficient use of all port authority-owned land, structures, equipment and other assets. The Supervisory Board of SOGET has set up a new Executive Board.
 
The Alabama State Port Authority and MTC Logistics have announced MTC’s purchase of property located immediately adjacent to the ASPA’s container terminal, operated by APM Terminals. MTC will build a state-of-the-art international temperature-controlled distribution center focused on both import and export cargo. The Port of Virginia has opened four new inbound truck gates expanding capacity at the terminal’s gate complex by 30 percent.

The Port of New Orleans has announced that Disney Cruise Line will sail from New Orleans in early 2020. Port Tampa Bay welcomed its millionth cruise ship passenger for the fiscal year 2018. It is the first time the port hit this milestone in its history. The Norwegian Bliss will arrive at the Canada Place cruise ship terminal at the Port of Vancouver. At over 168 thousand tonnes, 333 metres in length, and room to accommodate nearly 6,000 people, the Bliss is the largest cruise ship ever to move through the Port of Vancouver.
