Port Canaveral welcomed the world’s largest cruise ship as Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas made its historic first North American port of call. The massive cruise vessel arrived at the port’s Cruise Terminal 1 from Malaga, Spain with nearly 5,500 cruise guests and 2,200 international crew members. During Massport’s 2018 cruise season, Flynn Cruiseport Boston welcomed a record 390,696 visitors to Boston.

The Port of Oakland is on track for its third straight year of record container volume in 2018. The Port of Savannah moved more container cargo in October than any other month in its history, with 413,800 TEUs crossing its docks. The Port of Virginia processed more than 270,000 TEUs in October, setting a new record for the amount of cargo volume handled in a single month.

The Port of Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners awarded more than $3 million to support four projects that will help improve water quality in and around Long Beach as part of the Port Community Grants Program. The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has announced that the New Brighton Park Shoreline Habitat Restoration Project has received a gold rating under the Stewardship Centre for B.C.’s Green Shores® for Coastal Development program.
