Through the regional spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent economic downturn, the Port of Corpus Christi remains committed to its community and therefore will not alter plans to open its biannual call for sponsorship applications from Coastal Bend nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits seeking funding for events that occur between January 1 and June 30, 2021 may submit applications to the port until October 31.

Manson Construction has selected Keppel AmFELS to build the largest U.S. hopper dredge at the Port of Brownsville, adding to the growing number of shipbuilding projects and job opportunities in the South Texas region. The self-propelled hopper dredge, to be named Frederick Paup, will be the largest in the U.S., representing Manson's single biggest investment in its 115-year history.

Texas-based energy company Max Midstream announced the acquisition of the Seahawk Pipeline and Terminal from Oaktree Capital at the Port of Calhoun with plans for a historic pipeline that will connect the port directly to both Eagle Ford and Permian Basins to transport up to 20 million barrels a month to a revitalized terminal at the port. Exports will begin with completion of the first phase in late 2020, and the second phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2023.

The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority has been awarded $568,125 from the Ohio Department of Transportation through the Maritime Assistance Program for two projects at the Port of Toledo. The grant funds provide 50% of the total project costs that will be matched by local funds. 

Protecting the whales and local air quality is not only a top priority for the Port of Hueneme, but also its ocean carriers. Maersk, GLOVIS, K Line, and NYK Line all earned recognition for participating in the Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies Program.

Proposals for Cargo Gate Modifications and Process Improvements – Secondary Electrical Service (RFQ No. 2011-045.04) project located in the South Florida Container Terminal (SFCT) Cargo Yard along the proposed Cargo Gates Roadway may be submitted no later than November 2 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
