Stephen Edwards will take the reins of The Port of Virginia starting next year, bringing deep terminal operating experience to the third-largest East Coast port after serving as the chief of TraPac, Global Container Terminals, Ports America, and P&O Ports. Edwards begins his tenure on January 19 and will succeed John F. Reinhart who served as CEO and executive director of the Virginia Port Authority for the past seven years.

The Port of Lake Charles received a very generous donation of recovery aid from Port of New Orleans and CRC Global Solutions that included three truckloads containing cases of water, buckets, tarps, sacks for debris removal, diapers, wipes, household items and other supplies.

The Port of Galveston reported the recent Galveston International Longshoremen’s Association cruise rally delivered a clear message: cruising equals jobs for Galveston. More than 120 longshoremen, cruise workers and community leaders turned out with signs to show their support for bringing back safe, sustainable cruising.

The Port of Gulfport is currently leasing space to Seahawk and Sea Innovator, two autonomous vessels owned by Leidos. Seahawk was built by Leidos for the U.S. Navy on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and is capable of independent, unmanned operations for long periods of time.
