Yesterday, the Port of South Louisiana (Port SL) CEO Paul Matthews announced that the port has entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement with T. Parker Host to purchase Avondale Global Gateway, following the Port of South Louisiana Commission’s unanimous approval. As the Western Hemisphere’s second largest tonnage port, Port SL is an elite player in global shipping markets and the acquisition of this 254-acre global logistics hub along the Mississippi River will allow the port to be more competitive in traditional international trade and focus on the new frontier of renewable energy development.

The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstration has encouraged the Port of Corpus Christi to submit a full application for its Horizons Clean Hydrogen Hub (HCH2) through the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs Program. The Port of Corpus Christi, as a landlord port authority and the owner of the most improved, most efficient ship channel on the U.S. Gulf Coast, is the prime applicant for the HCH2 and is the common denominator to each of the roughly two dozen discrete clean hydrogen production projects in the proposed hub.
