New Interns to Assist ACCG Policy and Legal Staff this Summer

John Fleisch is a graduate student at the Andrew Young School of Public Policy at Georgia State University where he will finish his master’s degree in public administration this fall. Fleisch received his undergraduate degree in political science from Georgia Southern University. He has previously interned as a legislative aide for the Georgia General Assembly. Over the course of his internship, he will assist the research and policy staff by compiling and reviewing election data, updating statistical information for the Handbook for Georgia County Commissioners,  collecting and updating SPLOST information, updating finance and budget information, attending policy meetings and providing general research assistance. In his spare time, he enjoys camping, fishing, and kayaking.

John David McLean is a senior at Georgia State University studying public policy with a concentration in planning and economic development. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in local government, working in planning and community development. McLean has previously interned with the City of Sugar Hill as a demographic analyst and with the City of Powder Springs in community development. As a policy intern, he will assist the research and policy staff by updating data for the SPLOST guide, updating and verifying information for additional ACCG publications, compiling and reviewing election data, updating county data through research and survey methods, attending policy meetings and providing general research assistance. 

Ben Prickett is a recent graduate of the Mercer School of Law. His focus in law school was education and labor law, and he has interned both with the Legal Affairs office of the Technical College System of Georgia and the Federal Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights. Prickett received his undergraduate degree at the University of Montevallo and has a Master of Fine Arts from Saint Mary’s College of California. He would like to begin his legal career in the public sector at the federal or state level. During his tenure with ACCG, Prickett will assist the legal staff with various projects, including an update of the Handbook for Georgia County Commissioners.
