ACCG Welcomes Fall Interns

David Johnson received his undergraduate degree in public policy with a concentration in public management and governance from the Andrew Young of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. Johnson is currently a second-year M.P.A candidate at Clark Atlanta University and is scheduled to graduate in December of 2015. He has interned for Fulton County and the city of Atlanta. After graduation, Johnson plans to become a policy analyst for a county government. During his time with ACCG, he will work on budget and audit projects, assist with election tracking, update county resource information, help survey county staff on a variety of issues and perform additional research tasks as required. 

Emily Lauter is a senior at Georgia State University. She is majoring in public policy with an emphasis in planning and economic development. In her spare time, Lauter serves as treasurer for the planning and economic development club where she manages the group’s financial matters. Lauter has completed several internships including working with the Democratic Party and as aide to State House Representative LaDawn Jones. During the course of her internship, she will update statewide county data, revise and expand ACCG’s County Government 101 presentation, compile county data from various sources, assist with election tracking and provide research assistance as needed. 

Ben Prickett will be continuing his position as legal intern for ACCG through the fall. Prickett is a recent graduate of the Mercer School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Montevallo and has a Master of Fine Arts from Saint Mary’s College of California. He would like to begin his legal career in the public sector at the federal or state level. During his tenure with ACCG, Prickett will assist the legal staff with various projects, including a statewide compilation of salary information for elected officials by county.
