GLGPA Recognizes HR Managers Certificate Recipients

The Georgia Local Government Personnel Association (GLGPA) recently held their Fall Conference at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education in Athens, Georgia November 12-15, 2019. During the conference employees from four county governments were awarded their Level I Certifications as a Certified Human Resources Manager (CHRM). To achieve the CHRM certification each person completed 12 to 13 classes and a self-directed learning project.
We would like to congratulate the following:
- Marie Barbee, Transit Office Manager/Dispatcher/Scheduler for the Catoosa County Board of Commissioners
- Jill Faulkner, Human Resources Director for the Oconee County Board of Commissioners
- Beverly LeRoy, Human Resources Specialist for the Columbia County Board of Commissioners
- Hank Shirley, Facilities and Risk Management Director for the Walton County Board of Commissioners
- Holly Stephenson, Risk and Liability Specialist for the Walton County Board of Commissioners
- Andrea Taylor, Senior Benefits Specialist for the Walton County Board of Commissioners
- Cathy Weinstein, Human Resources Specialist for the Walton County Board of Commissioners
Also, during the conference employees from three county governments were awarded their Level II Certifications as an Advanced Certified Human Resources Manager (ACHRM). To achieve the ACHRM certification each person completed forty-eight hours of instruction in classes and the completion of a multi-rater assessment instrument (Gov360) that collects ratings on behavioral competencies from multiple observers.

- Melissia Rusk, Assistant Human Resources Director for the Walton County Board of Commissioners
- Kim Stripling, Human Resources Manager for the Worth County Board of Commissioners
The GLGPA certification programs are the only programs in the State of Georgia whereby local government employees may become certified in the Human Resources field. The programs are sponsored by GLGPA in conjunction with the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) and the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and are administered by The University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. |
