Georgia Local Government Personnel Association Certificate Recipients

“Recently the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association (GLGPA) held their Spring Conference at the Legacy Lodge at Lake Lanier Islands in Buford, Georgia, June 14-17, 2022. During the conference some of our county members were awarded certifications for completing the Level I Certification as a Certified Human Resources Manager (CHRM) and the Level II Certification as an Advanced Certified Human Resources Manager (ACHRM) through the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association and the Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
During the conference employees from six county governments were awarded their Level I Certifications as a Certified Human Resources Manager (CHRM). To achieve the CHRM certification, each person completed 13 classes and a self-directed learning project.
We would like to congratulate the following:
- Theresa Bailey, Human Resources Director for the Ware County Board of Commissioners
- Dawn Carter, Human Resources Director/Risk Management for the Colquitt County Board of Commissioners
- Monica Irwin, Human Resources Director for the Crisp County Government
- Riley Johnson, Director of Human Resources for the Bryan County Board of Commissioners
- Linda Ramey, Human Resource Officer/County Clerk for the Rabun County Board of Commissioners
- Beth Stringer, Human Resources Manager for the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office
In addition to these recipients, employees from four county governments were awarded their Level II Certifications as Advanced Certified Human Resources Manager (ACHRM). To achieve the ACHRM certification, each person completed forty-eight hours of instruction in classes and the completion of a multi-rater assessment instrument (Gov360) that collects ratings on behavioral competencies from multiple observers.

- Jill Faulkner, Human Resources Director for the Oconee County Board of Commissioners
- Cindy Mallett, Human Resources Director for the Bulloch County Board of Commissioners
- Andrea McDonald, Assistant Human Resources Director for the Walton County Board of Commissioners
The GLGPA certification programs are the only programs in the State of Georgia whereby local government employees may become certified in the Human Resources field. The programs are sponsored by GLGPA in conjunction with the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) and the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and are administered by The University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.”
