BRACE Community Improvement Grant Open for Second Round of Submissions

The Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation is pleased to announce a second application period for the BRACE Community Improvement Grant.

The purpose of the BRACE Grant Program is to reduce litter, blight, and illegal dumping on public property and encourage code enforcement efforts. Funded through the Solid Waste Trust Fund (SWTF), it is designed to prioritize assistance for communities with smaller populations that may not have the funds or staff to adequately address these challenges.

Why is this so critical? Litter affects our quality of life, destroying our state’s natural beauty, harming or killing wildlife, and diminishing water quality. It also hinders economic development—property values decrease in littered neighborhoods, whereas clean environments attract families and businesses.

Grants of $2,500 or $5,000 for round two will be made in March 2023. Local governments, public authorities, agencies, commissions, or institutions are all eligible to apply. Priority will be given to communities with a population of 2,500 or less according to the most recent U.S. Census Bureau Population and Housing Unit Estimates data.

You can find further details about the program on the application page, including project examples, guidelines, questions for review, and a new list of FAQs. Submissions must be completed by 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 in order to qualify.
