Georgia Recreational Trails

Georgia Recreational Trails grants are administered by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. These grants are intended to improve outdoor access in Georgia by providing funding to develop or rehabilitate nonmotorized trails in Georgia.  Nonmotorized uses may include hiking, walking, running, wheelchair access, biking, horseback riding, kayak/canoe access along water trails, or a combination of the above uses. These grants are for projects which are primarily recreational in nature, rather than serving a more utilitarian transportation function. Eligible applicants include qualified local governments, authorized commissions, and state and federal agencies.

Georgia Off-highway Vehicle Trails

These grants are intended to support the development of off-highway (OHV) trails in Georgia.  These motorized trails can be designated for the riding of dirt bikes, ATVs, UTVs, full-sized off-road vehicles, or a combination of the above uses. These grants are for projects which are primarily recreational in nature, rather than serving a more utilitarian transportation function. Eligible applicants include qualified local governments, authorized commissions, and state and federal agencies.
