2023 GFC Best Management Survey Report

So far…so good! That’s the preliminary word on Georgia’s 2023 Best Management Survey report, which is being finalized this month. Efforts to protect water quality on forested land is reflected in an overall BMP implementation score of almost 97%, which is an improvement over the 2021 report. The Georgia Forestry Commissioner (GFC) wants to extend a hearty “Thank You” to all professional loggers and municipal partners around the state who work daily to protect water quality. GFC appreciates Georgia counties focus on forestry BMPs. GFC’s Catoosa/Whitfield Unit assisted with delivery of the Georgia Capitol Christmas tree last month. The 25+ foot red cedar is on display in the Capitol Rotunda through the holiday season.
