Governments typically finance capital projects using debt—especially bond issuances. Because these bonds are typically repaid over decades, financial managers and government leaders must establish strategies that optimally manage a debt profile alongside larger concerns of fiscal health.
Georgia State University's debt management course incorporates the knowledge and experience of nationally and internationally recognized faculty who deliver lectures on the key components of public sector debt management policies and strategies.

- Developing and evaluating an organization’s debt policy
- Understanding debt issuance, including process selection, bond type selection, and debt structuring
- Learning the issuer’s legal disclosure responsibilities to investors
- Understanding IRS regulations governing debt issuance, use, and investment of debt proceeds
The course is being offered on February 7-9, 2024. Registration is limited, interested parties are encouraged to register early. The program fee and registration must be submitted by Sunday, February 4 at 5:00 p.m.
