Get Involved: Serve on a NACo Steering Committee

ACCG members can now apply for a NACo Steering Committee. County officials must submit a nomination for a steering committee position. Officials can only serve on one steering committee per year. No more than two individuals from the same county and eight individuals from the same state can serve on the same steering committee. A list of NACo steering committees can be found below: 
  •  Agriculture and Rural Affairs Steering Committee
  • Community, Economic, and Workforce Steering Committee
  • Environment, Energy, and Land Use Steering Committee
  • Finance, Pensions, and Intergovernmental Affairs Steering Committee
  • Health Steering Committee
  • Human Services and Education Steering Committee
  • Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee
  • Telecommunications and Technology Steering Committee
  • Transportation Steering Committee

Other ways to participate is by applying to a standing committee, task force, caucus, or advisory board. To apply, please send an email with your committee preferences to committee@naco.org. Chair and vice chair applications must be submitted before the NACo Annual Conference through: naco.org/presidential_appointments. Check your e-mail and County News for information on when committee applications open each spring.
