The Local Government Risk Management Services (LGRMS), working in conjunction with ACCG and the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), is raising awareness of the hazards and controls surrounding firefighter cancer across the state of Georgia. Through the Firefighter Cancer Awareness Incentive Program, LGRMS will award two fire departments (one county and one city) up to $5,000 in reimbursement, toward the purchase of equipment that will assist in the reduction of firefighter cancer risks (e.g., washer extractor, ventilation equipment, decontamination, etc.). Applications must be submitted by Friday, Oct. 31, 2025.
