The ACCG Workers’ Compensation Board of Trustees voted to extend the Online Driver Training Incentive Grant Program to Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025. The grant program aims to promote safe driving and is only available for law enforcement officers employed by current Workers' Compensation program members. The online driving course, The Essentials of Law Enforcement Driving: Hazards & Controls, is available through the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. The course is based on content created by the Local Government Risk Management Services (LGRMS), sheriffs, and deputies from across Georgia.
Why Pursue this Grant?
- Officers can receive 4 hours P.O.S.T. credit.
- Training can reduce preventable accidents, which:
- Keeps the officer and public safe;
- Reduces physical damage to vehicles; and
- Positively impacts workers’ compensation and property & liability premiums.
- Eligible Members will be provided a grant up to $1,000 on a reimbursement basis. To be eligible, the sheriff’s office and/or county police department must have at least 80% of their drivers complete the online driving course. Grant funds will be distributed on a first come, first approved basis until all eligible funds have been expended.
The last day to apply is now Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025. More information on the grant program can be found here. All questions or concerns should be directed to Dan Beck, Director of LGRMS, at 678-686-6280 or dbeck@lgrms.com.
