TASER Certification Training

LGRMS will be offering TASER International's eight-hour training course for certification and recertification for ACCG IRMA program members (liability insurance programs).

The focus is to assist smaller agencies who do not have a certified TASER instructor or access to one.

The course will be taught by LGRMS certified TASER instructors David Trotter, Kevin Weigand and Mike Earl.

These onsite classes will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is no cost for ACCG IRMA Insurance Program members.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 10 class attendees is needed.
  • The class size cannot exceed 25 attendees. A class can consist of attendees from more than one agency; however, all attendees must be from either an ACCG IRMA or GMA GIRMA member.
  • Each attendee must provide their own TASER and practice cartridges (1 each, 15' & 21 ') for the course.
  • Each attendee will be responsible for their own lunch.
  • Attendees will not be TASERed as part of this class.
  • Each agency participating in the training must provide a current copy of their Electronic Control Device SOP.

An application form will be provided by email, fax, or mail. The completed application form must be returned to the LGRMS office to be considered and the class scheduled.

HUNGER ACTION MONTH

Georgia Food Bank Association Member Food Banks Are Taking Action!

September is Hunger Action Month.  The Georgia Food Bank Association, comprised of seven regional food banks in Georgia who are part of the of the Feeding America network, will join with partner hunger relief agencies to ask everyone in Georgia to play a role in fighting domestic hunger. 

Hunger affects communities all across the country - rural, urban and suburban. Right here in Georgia, more than one in six individuals struggle with hunger.  The problem is closer than you think, but so is the solution.
