Created in March 2019, the ACCG Workers’ Compensation Fund Employee Safety Grant provides financial assistance to Fund members to reduce workplace injuries. Eligible members are encouraged to apply for funding no later than August 30, 2019.

June's spotlight is shining on ABAC student Emily Dean and her experience as as intern with Pickens County. During her internship, she got a glimpse into the operations of county government and gained hands-on experience that will prove beneficial to her career. ACCG welcomes policy and research interns, Jessica Berman and Luke Owens, and legal clerk, Kevin Fitzgerald, for the summer term. Over the course of their internships, they will assist the policy, research, and legal departments with special projects.

A one-hour special brought to you by Georgia Public Broadcasting and Red Sky Productions, Georgia from the Air is an aerial survey of the entire state of Georgia, filmed using the latest drone technology. It is also considered a new tool in the county economic development toolbox as it highlights the glory of Georgia’s local communities.

Counties across America are taking steps to preserve their community history while transforming their main street to revitalize local economy and attract residents downtown. Join NACo on June 19th to learn about national initiatives with which your county might engage and local strategies your county might employ to revitalize your local main street and economy.

Over the past few weeks, ACCG and GMA surveyed their memberships about the status of local complete count committees (LCCCs) in their respective governments. A combination of over 200 responses were received. Read more to view the results.

The 5th Annual Georgia Government Communicators Conference will be held on August 15-16 in Athens - Clarke County. Hosted by the Georgia Municipal Association and ACCG, this conference connects communications professionals in city, county and state goverment offices. The deadline to register is August 14, 2019.
