You're invited to attend the ACCG Federal Policy Committee Meeting at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday, September 6.  Attendees will receive updates from our Georgia Congressional offices as well as presentations on federal opportunity zones, veterans assistance programs and transportation grants. There will also be a tour of the CDC Emergency Operations Center!

Jeanellia Garcia, a civil engineering major at Georgia Southern University, is the first Kundell Environmental Management Intern. The Kundell Environmental Management Internship/Fellowship Program was established by the ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation to honor the work of the late Dr. Jim Kundell. LGRMS has released a training calendar for safety events occuring in September along with a Safety Theme packet dedicated to helping counties share the importance of safety in the workplace with employees. The packet includes posters, sign-in sheets and several useful tips to avoiding workplace hazards.

The application period for the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program (GOSP) and Recreational Trails Program (RTP) is now open. To help prepare for the upcoming cycle, the DNR Grants Unit has provided new resources for applicants.

GHRAC is offering grants up to $5,000 to local historical repositories in Georgia to develop and/or implement projects to identify, preserve and provide access to historical records.  Any size local historical repository with permanently valuable archival materials may apply. The application deadline is October 1.
