Mark your calendars! Starting in late October, the ACCG policy team will travel to each of ACCG’s 12 districts throughout the state for District Meetings. These meetings allow county officials to engage in candid town hall discussions with some of Georgia’s state legislators and receive information on key county issues as well as an update from the ACCG policy staff on what to expect for the upcoming legislative session.

The Georgia Firefighters’ Cancer Program (GFCP) administered by the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) and the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) has new features available to its members. Among those features is a new website, informational brochures and reduced rates. Read more to learn about these new features.

Hannah Pham, a public health major at Georgia Southern University, is the first recipient of the Joan Garner Health and Human Services Internship grant. The Joan Garner Health and Human Services Internship/Fellowship Program was established by the ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation to honor the work of late Fulton County Commissioner Joan Garner. Registration for the Report of Local Government Finances (RLGF) and the Government Management Indicators Survey (GOMI) webinars is still open! Register for the webinar(s) of your choice to learn more information about each report and to ensure they are completed properly. 

Now that your county has established a local complete count committee (LCCC), you need to know where you can find resources to engage the public in participating in the 2020 Census.  Fortunately, there are a variety of flyers, handouts, presentations, videos and additional information available that can assist in outreach efforts.
