Registration is now open for the summer policy committee meetings. Join the ACCG Governmental Affairs team and your county peers for candid and constructive discussions about laws and policies impacting counties. These discussions will help identify policy platform changes and recommended policy objectives for the proposed 2025 ACCG Policy Agenda. 
  
Make plans to attend the Legislative Leadership Conference on October 9 - 11 at the The Classic Center in Athens-Clarke County. Counties will vote to approve the 2025 ACCG Policy Agenda and receive updates on legislative issues that impact local governments. Registration will open the week of July 22.
  
The application window for the 2024 Employee Safety Grant program is now open. Don’t miss out on your portion of the $500,000 grant funds. Learn more about the program and the eligibility requirements.
  
The "Computing County Official Salaries for 2025" guidebook is now available. ACCG publishes this guidebook annually to assist counties in calculating salaries (as of January 1, 2025) of certain county officials, as well as state officials who receive supplements to their salaries from the county.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has issued a call for Transportation Alternatives (TA) project applications for FY2025 funding. Applications for projects will be accepted until Thursday, August 15.  
  
The Georgia River Network is seeking input from county governments on the public use of local rivers and streams and public investments in water recreation access and amenities. The data collected will aid a special House study committee on navigable streams when developing recommendations about which streams and rivers in Georgia should be open and accessible to the public.

Registration for the 2024 NACo Annual Conference & Exposition is still open. Join ACCG staff and county officials from across the nation on July 12-15 for engaging sessions and workshops on federal policies impacting counties. 
  
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has opened a "Call for Utilities" encouraging water sector utilities to apply for the Creating Resilient Water Utilities (CRWU) Initiative. The CRWU initiative provides water sector utilities with no-cost climate change risk assessment technical assistance. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, August 15.
  
Throughout the month of July, join the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) in showcasing your county parks and recreation departments. This year's theme “Where You Belong” celebrates the many ways park and recreation professionals foster a sense of belonging in their communities.
  
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is accepting Stage 1 applications for its Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grants Program. Applications must be submitted through Valid Eval by Friday, July 12.
  
If your county accepted Visa and Mastercard payments between 2004 and 2019, it is eligible to recover some amount of money as part of a court-approved $5.5 billion settlement. The deadline to submit claims is August 30, 2024.
