Registration is still open for the 2024 Legislative Leadership Conference (LLC). Join ACCG, your county colleagues, and state leaders on October 9-11 at the Classic Center in Athens-Clarke County for the association’s fall policy conference. House Bill 451, also known as the Ashley Wilson Act, will go into effect on January 1, 2025. To help counties and county-related authorities prepare, the ACCG-IRMA will begin the proposal process for PTSD coverage to ensure all eligible employees and volunteers are covered by January.

The highly anticipated Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant cycle is now open and accepting pre-applications for fiscal year 2024-2025. The LWCF program is a federal program authorized by Congress for the purpose of acquiring federal lands and assisting states and local governments with funds to acquire lands and develop and renovate outdoor recreation facilities.

The Reconnecting Communities Institute (RCI) is a new U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) center for learning to help reconnect communities that were harmed, isolated, and cut off from opportunity by transportation infrastructure. RCI support is available to grantees and prospective grantees of the Reconnecting Communities Pilot (RCP) Program to strengthen local capacity in planning and implementing innovative community reconnection projects.
