 ACCG would like to provide a friendly reminder of the Human Resources Legal Services available to counties to assist with personnel issues. Members of the ACCG-IRMA program have full access to the legal services and encouraged to utilize it to avoid costly litigation arising out of certain claims.
  
Ensuring that all counties' voices are heard is a priority of ACCG. The association encourages every county to appoint a voting delegate to vote on the 2021 Policy Agenda and Legislative Priorities. Voting delegate forms must be submitted by Sept. 22. 
  
Join the ACCG leadership development team and CVIOG from the comfort of your home, or office, as we embark on hosting the first-ever set of online Lifelong Learning Academy training classes!  In lieu of the Legislative Leadership Conference, the association is kicking off the inaugural online classes on Sept. 30 and Oct. 2.
  
ACCG is looking to redesign our website with YOU, our members, in mind. Please take a moment to complete a brief survey to provide feedback that will assist us in producing a newly-designed website that fits your needs. Remember, we are here to serve you so your opinion matters! The survey is available until Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. 
Mercer University student, Karis Fisher, had little knowledge of the role county government played when it came to finances. During her internship with DeKalb County's Office of Independent Internal Affairs, she developed key skills to excel in her field and gain valuable insight on the responsibities of local government.
ACCG would like to extend a congratulations to Clayton County for their acceptance into the 2020 Georgia Smart Communities Challenge Program. The Georgia Smart Communities Challenge (Georgia Smart) is an award-winning program that empowers smart local development within the State of Georgia.

Sept. 30 marks the end of the 2020 Census. This month, it's very crucial for counties to ramp up their outreach efforts to hit their response rate goals. To help, ACCG has provided some useful tips to make every day count!
  
State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) is pleased to announce that Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB) will accept applications for up to $10 million in loan funding starting Sept.1, through Oct. 23. Awards are expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2021. GTIB is a competitive grant and low-interest loan program available to eligible government units in Georgia.  
  

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is pleased to announce the 2020-2021 funding cycle for the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program. Pre-applications will be accepted Aug. 1 - Oct.16 for Conserve Georgia grants and loans through the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program.
The federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant program helps state and local governments not only acquire and develop recreation lands, but also rehabilitate outdoor recreation facilities. Approximately $9 million will be available for grant awards to local governments during this funding cycle.
