Make plans to attend the Legislative Leadership Conference on October 11 - 13 at the Jekyll Island Convention Center in Glynn County. Counties will vote to approve the 2024 ACCG Policy Agenda and receive updates on legislative issues that impact local governments. More information will be available soon.
  
Registration for the upcoming policy committee meetings is now available. Meetings will be held in Toombs and Forsyth counties, providing two opportunities for county officials to participate. At each location, all six policy committees will meet over two days. 
  
The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation Golf Tournament is changing locations this year. It will be held in Barrow County at The Georgia Club on Monday, November 15, 2023.
  
The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation received a $10,000 grant from Verizon to provide internship opportunities to rural counties for the 2024 Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP).
  
This month the sun is shining on Baldwin County intern Tanner Adams. Adams is a rising senior at Georgia College and currently works as a geographic information systems (GIS) intern. Learn more about his internship and future career goals.

The Center for State and Local Finance (CSLF) is kicking of their tenth year of public financial management courses. The program offers in-depth training that focuses on the strategic thinking and analytical skills necessary for today’s public finance leaders to succeed.
The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel, the Georgia Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), and the Department of Natural Resources/Environmental Protection Division (DNR/EPD) are offering a 30-hour training program to become a certfied landfill operator in the State of Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is pleased to announce the 2023-2024 Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program (GOSP) and Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Funding Cycle. The funding is designed to support local recreational trails and parks in Georgia.

The deadline to apply for funding through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant program is quickly approaching. The SS4A program funds regional, local, and Tribal initiatives through grants to prevent deaths and serious injuries on our nation's roadways. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023.
