The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation recently distributed grant application materials to counties for the Georgia County Internship Program. Counties that apply and are selected will receive grant funds to recruit and hire interns in the summer and fall of 2014 to undertake specific county projects. Interns must be college and university students or recent graduates. Application deadlines are March 21 (summer) and April 25 (fall).

Local Government Risk Management Services (LGRMS) will offer accident investigation training for local officials on March 11 and March 12. The training will be held in Dublin/Laurens County on March 11 and in Tifton/Tift County on March 12.

This new designation recognizes communities, big or small, with a history of executing community plans as well as effective plan development. Applications for PlanFirst are now available and are due May 15.
