The Immigration Report Collection System managed by the Department of Audits and Accounts (DOAA) opened on November 1st for the reporting period of December 1, 2018 through November 30, 2019. Please start preparing early to ensure that you have all the information needed to file the report by the deadline.

Meet the ACCG interns, Kevin Fitzgerald and Alex Domaleski. Kevin Fitzgerald, a third-year law student at Emory, and Alex Domaleski, a master’s candidate in criminal justice at Georgia State University, interned with ACCG during the fall semester. During their tenure, they assisted the legal and policy teams' with research projects

The National Association of Counties (NACo) has asked ACCG and Georgia counties to participate in a program they have launched to help properly retire American flags. NACo will provide each Georgia county with a box to use in order to collect the flags. Counties are asked to: 1) find a location to display the box that is both secure and easily accessible and 2) identify a community partner who will check the box and properly retire the flags as needed. NACo anticipates shipping a flag box to each Georgia county in December.

The Funding the Future Symposium will take place on November 19–20 and will provide critical information about innovative ways to fund building projects for government managers, public works officials and others. Registration is available through UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

Save the date for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Prosperity Training Summit – an event designed to foster hope and opportunity, asset building, and wealth creation in communities across the country.The Summit will highlight the White House Rural Prosperity Task Force recommendations emphasizing e-connectivity, quality of life, workforce development, innovation and technology, and economic development.

The State & Local Legal Center (SLCC) is offering a new webinar on Wednesday, November 13 on whether statutory annotations may be copyrighted. The webinar will cover the implications of this case for state and local governments more generally, the policy and legal arguments each side is making before the Supreme Court, and how this case may impact the legal publishing industry.

The Georgia Trail Summit Curriculum Committee is currently accepting proposals for mobile workshops and classroom sessions during the 2020 Georgia Trail Summitt until Nov. 25. The 2020 theme is "Connecting Communities." Proposals should focus on ways that trails and trail networks link communities to recreation and transportation options – and introduce neighbors to each other.
