The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has announced the appointment of Alan Melia as Technical Adviser – Diving. As a member of IMCA’s highly experienced Diving Division team, he will advise on all aspects of how diving operations can be carried out safely and efficiently.
 
ROVOP Limited, ("Rovop") an independent operator of underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), has marked a major business achievement after reporting record revenues and employee numbers for the company. ROVOP has also reported its best ever EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes Depreciation and Amortisation).
 
The Underwater Centre has become the world’s only commercial diving school to offer a closed bell saturation diving system with a self-propelled hyperbaric lifeboat (SPHL), following a major refurbishment.

The July/August issue of Underwater Magazine is online now. Recognizing and honoring individuals whose efforts and accomplishments have significantly contributed to commercial diving through a lifetime of dedication.

Nominees do not have to be commercial divers, but can be any individual who has been influential and who has made a significant and recognizable life-long contribution to the commercial diving community.

Inductees will be honored at the Awards Dinner at Underwater Intervention 2017.

Award
This year the ADCI will award 2 Scholarships at $4,000.00 each.

Eligibility
This ADCI Scholarship is open to members of the community of all ADCI voting member companies who are current and in good standing with ADCI, with the exception of officers and/or directors of the ADCI Board of Directors or their immediate families. This award is available for any institution of higher learning after high school including universities, colleges, junior colleges, vocational training schools and trade schools. 

Scholarship recipients will be honored at the Awards Dinner at Underwater Intervention 2019.

The leadership committee for Underwater Intervention 2019 (UI 2019) has issued a call for abstracts for those interested in presenting at the preeminent event for the underwater operations industry. UI 2019 will take place February 5-7, 2019, at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Our goal is to develop a compelling educational and technical program with all our attendees in mind. Our Track Leaders want to hear from you regarding your insight and expertise regarding the following tracks:

Novacavi has actively contributed to "Marine Energy LAB" (MEL), the research and development project of efficient production, accumulation and transmission of electricity in marine environment jointly developed by the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria and Politecnico di Bari.
 
Global integrated subsea services business, Kreuz Subsea, has announced the appointment of Thomas Liew as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer. His arrival completes the company’s reorganization phase of its international growth strategy.
 
A former Thai Navy diver died while taking part in efforts to rescue 12 boys and their football coach, trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand. Petty Officer Saman Gunan lost consciousness on his way out of the Tham Luang cave complex, where he had been delivering air cylinders.The death of Saman Kunan, 38, a volunteer and former Thai Navy Seal, came as a cruel jolt to the tireless efforts of divers, engineers and caving experts who have been working furiously to extract the children aged 11-16; and their coach, 25, since they were found sheltering in a muddy chamber.
