Digitalization could save upstream market $100 billion
Rystad Energy estimates that as much as $100 billion can be eliminated from E&P upstream budgets through automation and digitalization initiatives in the 2020s.
 
The Ocean Cleanup marks success in Great Pacific Garbage Patch
Launched from Vancouver in June, System 001/B is The Ocean Cleanup’s second attempt to prove its concept of collecting garbage from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, the largest accumulation zone of plastic in the world’s oceans.
 
Oil oversupply worries linger
U.S. crude futures fell less than 0.1% to $52.59 a barrel, and Brent, the global gauge of prices, added 0.1% to $58.32 a barrel. Crude had rallied more than 2% earlier in the day but erased that advance late in the session. Oil is near a two-month low and down about 30% in the past year as investors grapple with fears of slowing demand amid weak global growth.

Nominations are now open for the ADCI Scholarship Program Award
This year the ADCI will award 2 Scholarships at $4,000.00 each.
 
Eligibility
This ADCI Scholarship is open to members of the community of all ADCI voting member companies who are current and in good standing with ADCI, with the exception of officers and/or directors of the ADCI Board of Directors or their immediate families. This award is available for any institution of higher learning after high school including universities, colleges, junior colleges, vocational training schools and trade schools.
 
Scholarship recipients will be honored at the Awards Dinner at Underwater Intervention 2020.
 
Deadline for submittal of nominations:
NOVEMBER 1, 2019

Recognizing and honoring individuals whose efforts and accomplishments have significantly contributed to commercial diving through a lifetime of dedication.
 
Nominees do not have to be commercial divers, but can be any individual who has been influential and who has made a significant and recognizable life-long contribution to the commercial diving community.
 
Inductees will be honored at the Awards Dinner at Underwater Intervention 2020.

Blue Ocean Monitoring expands AUV fleet
Blue Ocean Monitoring Ltd. has purchased a new L3Harris Technologies Iver3 autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) to support its global survey operations. The AUV is said to be one of the smallest and lightest on the market, allowing for single-user deployment from small work vessels or directly from shore. It is capable of operating in water depths up to 200 m (656 ft).
 
Subsea oil storage provides alternative development option
Subsea storage may provide a cost-effective field development option for temporarily storing produced oil. This option is attractive in fields where discovered reserves do not justify the construction of new pipelines; and in areas where there is no existing pipeline infrastructure.
 
Universal Subsea installs Defender on Talos’ Subsea Well
Universal Subsea’s patent-pending Defender subsea isolation cap has been installed at the Bulleit subsea well, operated by Talos Energy in the Gulf of Mexico.
