According to a new report released by Douglas Westwood on 10 August 2010, over 2200 commercial divers will be required to help build and develop Europe’s offshore wind sector over the next six years.

Simmons: The growth of the oil industry in the U.S. has been incredible since I first started raising venture capital back in the spring of 1969. Anything beyond 80 feet of water was considered not safe. The first scientific mission using Sentry, a robot capable of diving 5,000 m, or 3.1 miles, into the ocean, was successfully completed by scientists and engineers from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and the University of Washington (UW).
