Nathan Shaw had the daunting task of taking off his dive helmet and putting it back on while submerged in 28 feet of water. Shaw, a dive officer with the Long Beach Harbor Patrol Commercial Dive Unit, demonstrated his aquatic skill Sunday in the 186,000 gallon Blue Cavern tank at the Aquarium of the Pacific in front of curious spectators.

The Singapore and Indonesian navies are co-hosting the 4th Western Pacific Mine Countermeasures Exercise (MCMEX) and Diving Exercise (DIVEX).
More than 1,000 personnel and 15 ships from 16 navies will be participating in the two exercises, which will be conducted in the Singapore Strait and the waters off the Indonesian island of Pulau Bintan. The Alantic Wind Connection filing in December was the start of a process intended to result, in due course, in the full exploitation of the region's offshore wind potential. It was first aired publically in October last year. The prospective trunk will stretch from New Jersey to Virginia and enable up to 6,000 MW of wind power to be built out of sight from land. Justin Scherf, diver for Pro-Dive Inc., who was hired by Herschend Enterprises, said visibility was good and that, despite some scratches, the hull was in good shape. The U.S. Coast Guard will review the high-definition video footage Scherf filmed during his dive to determine if the vessel is cleared to cruise again.
