HOUSTON -- Paradigm Flow Solutions has introduced Pipe-Pulse, a new technique designed to tackle restrictions and blockages in subsea pipelines.

Ice diving is a type of penetration diving where the dive takes place under ice. Because diving under ice places the diver in an overhead environment typically with only a single entry/exit point, it is considered an advanced type of diving requiring special training (although whether it constitutes technical diving is part of a wider debate within the diving community). The Round Butte Dam Selective Water Withdrawal project saved thousands of fish by altering the water currents.
The project included fabricating and assembling five large steel structures—a selective-water bottom structure, a vertical steel conduit, a selective-water top structure, an access bridge and a fish transfer facility—that were then attached to an existing concrete intake 270 ft below the water's surface. Because the work had to be performed mainly at night when intakes were at their lowest and at difficult depths for divers, most of the excavation, drilling of the 300-ft-long, 30-in.-diameter rock sockets and installation of more than 1,100 lin. ft of pipe pile was done using remotely operated vehicles.
