Except where noted, all new certification and equipment requirements will take effect immediately. Noted changes to take effect after formal adoption of this document will be annotated by a superscript (1, 2, or 3) after the stated requirement.

The legend for the superscript is as follows:
1 – Compliance required after 6 months from 7 July 2011
2 – Compliance required after 12 months from 7 July 2011
3 – Compliance required after 24 months from 7 July 2011

The ADCI Commercial Diving Hall of Fame was established in 2004 with the first inductees being those persons who had previously received either the John B. Galletti or Tom Devine Memorial Awards. The Hall of Fame is intended to "recognize and honor individuals whose dedication and accomplishments have significantly contributed to commercial diving through a life time of dedication." Prior inductees and short biographies are available on the ADCI Website at www.adc-int.org.

UnderWater magazine is seeking feature stories and photography covering subjects of broad significance to the commercial diving industry. We recently sat down with Karl Huggins the director of the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber, located at the USC Wrigley Marine Institute on Santa Catalina Island to discuss his scientific contributions to diving. Mr. Huggins developed an set of decompression dive tables he titled New No-Decompression Tables Based on No-Decompression Limits Determined by Doppler Ultrasonic Bubble Detection , renamed the Michigan Sea Grant Tables by the Scientific Diving community, and then the HUGI Tables by his friends.

The Japanese Ministry of Defense (MOD) has purchased one Hydroid REMUS 600 system for mine countermeasure operations. The new purchase brings the Japanese MOD AUV fleet to five vehicles. The REMUS 600 AUV was specifically designed for operations requiring extended endurance, increased payload capacity and greater operating depth.

China says Jiaolong deep-sea submersible will head thousands of meters underwater for its first dive attempt on Thursday. The first go will take the world’s first state-owned manned submersible at least 5,000 meters underwater in Mariannas Trench in the West Pacific Ocea, may further, pending weather conditions. The submersible is undergoing internal checks ahead of its attempt, having been delayed this week due to weather and sea conditions.

Hydrex diver/technicians straighten the propeller blades of a large container ship moored off Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. With all five blades of its propeller severely bent, a 290-meter container vessel needed a fast, on-site solution to restore the propeller’s balance and efficiency.
