The Offshore Diving Industry Agreement (ODIA) is a pay and conditions settlement on behalf of six employers – Rever Offshore, Subsea 7, TechnipFMC, N-Sea, Helix Energy Solutions and KD Marine. NUI AS, on behalf of the Association of Operators for Hyperbaric Lifeboat Reception Facilities (OFHB) will hold the 26th Bergen International Diving Seminar on November 13-14 2019. For the 2019 seminar we are aiming to have similar success as in the previous 25 events and hope to achieve more participants this year than we had in 2017, when 169 delegates from 77 companies and organisations enjoyed two very good days in Bergen listening to the 28 speakers and participating in lively discussions relating to the diving industry.

The unique titanium hull Soviet submarine “Komsomolets” sank after a fire on April 7th 1989 some 180 kilometres south of the Bear Island in the Norwegian Sea. In early July, Norwegian research ship “G. O. Sars”, sailing for the Marine Research Institute, visited the site with a deep diving remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV).

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) and the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI), the two major trade associations in the commercial diving industry, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on matters of operational safety, training standards and the mutual recognition of diver qualifications.

C-Kore Systems has completed another offshore campaign for the unnamed client off the West Australian North West Shelf. The company's subsea testing tools located the faulty subsea equipment allowing it to be replaced to make the field operational again, the company explained.

HMNZS Manawanui is a new dive and hydrographgic vessel developed for the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN).
