FNGLA'S LANDSCAPE AWARDS SUBMISSION DEADLINE FRIDAY, JULY 17
The FNGLA Landscape Awards Program was established in 1970 to recognize landscape excellence in Florida. 45 years later, FNGLA is still celebrating "the best of the best!" 2015's award-winning landscape projects will be showcased on the main stage at The Landscape Show in Orlando.
Submit your very best landscape projects as this is a grand opportunity for FNGLA to help promote and position your landscape firm as one of the "best of the best" our professional industry has to offer!

As you may be aware, April is World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM).
ASLA National is promoting the "Designed by a Landscape Architect" campaign for WLAM. For this activity during April, we are asking ASLA chapters and IFLA organizations to join in the celebration whereby people around the world will use the attached cards to take pictures of iconic or unique landscapes with the hashtag #WLAM2015 and sharing them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Then, please go to asla.org/wlam to submit the picture so ASLA can catalogue everything.
Also, National has designated an international "sister" organization of landscape architects for each state chapter to reach out and coordinate WLAM activities with. Florida Chapter's sister organization is in Portugal (Associação Portuguesa dos Arquitetos Paisagistas (APAP). Margarida Cancela d'Abreu (margarida.abreu@apap.pt) is our contact there.

I, Mark Focht, would like to personally challenge everyone to contribute to this worthy endeavor. It's easy! They take credit cards and it is over three years. I am looking for 100 percent FLASLA ExCom participation!

Hi FLASLA! My name is Holly Ann Colello, I am a Masters of Landscape Architecture Candidate at Temple University.
I am working on my Master's thesis, conducting research on LEED Accreditation and the importance it might have on Landscape Architects job placement, career advancement and winning bids. I am curious to know the importance the new SITES v2 might hold in comparison.

Landscape Architect, Deena R. Bell Llewellyn ASLA, and FLASLA Miami Section Chair, was recently elected by the Mayor of the City of Miami Beach, Mr. Philip Levine, and board of commissioners to serve on the Design Review Board for the City of Miami Beach.
Deena is the only licensed landscape architect elected to serve on the board for this term, which consists of six other professionals qualified to evaluate design review criteria of submittals that must go before the board as a pre-requisite to building department review. The Design Review Board of the City of Miami Beach is a volunteer position, and the duties encompass the examination of architectural drawings for consistency with design criteria as stated in the City codes, with regard to the aesthetics, appearances, safety, and function of any new or existing structure and physical attribute of the project in relation to the site, adjacent structures and the surrounding community as a whole.
