Many thanks to everyone who helped make the 2017 Florida Chapter ASLA Annual Conference in Boca Raton a great success. Our Conference Chair Helen Cohen and her dedicated volunteers, along with Corey Mathews and his staff did a great job and the feedback from the membership has been outstanding. This was truly one of our more memorable annual meetings.
 
All ASLA Members with ten or more continuous years of Full Membership are eligible for Fellowship in the Society. The Florida Chapter Fellows Committee wants to know if you believe you are electable to the ASLA Council of Fellows.
 
Annually, may be awarded to one Associate or Full Member in the early stage of their professional life, who represents the highest standard of excellence, has a proven record of professional involvement, innovation, and impact, and shows potential for greater involvement, innovation, and impact.

The Consultant’s Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA) (F.S. 287.055) was enacted by the Florida Legislature in 1973 and governs the processes required for procurement of professional design services for public sector projects. Public agencies are required to follow CCNA for the acquisition of professional architectural, engineering, landscape architectural and survey and mapping services. This statute applies to all public agencies seeking professional services and requires the selection to be based on a competitive selection process where the qualifications of the firm, or team, are evaluated rather than through a financially-based bid process. The CCNA process requires adherence with specific procedures during the procurement process. These procedures include:
