Now is the time to start thinking and planning for the celebration of National Healthcare Environmental Services Week. Each year we use this opportunity to show appreciation and recognition for the extraordinary teamwork required to care for the complex healthcare environment. When deciding how you will celebrate, remember that royalties from the official provider go towards our complimentary educational programming, development of new Signature programs each year and significant discounts on member pricing on all AHE services.

AHE has started this initiative to encourage professionals in the field to begin, or continue to refer to the departments and the personnel caring for the healthcare environment as environmental services professionals rather than as housekeepers, janitors and custodians. The staff and management teams responsible for maintaining the clinical environment of care require different skills and competencies from those needed in the commercial cleaning and general maintenance industry and it's time we address this critical distinction.

The Association for Community Health Improvement (ACHI) is proud to announce the launch of the call for proposals for the 15th annual ACHI National Conference being held in Atlanta, March 14-16, 2018. Improving the health of communities cannot be accomplished by one person, organization or sector alone. To significantly improve population health, we need to strengthen existing bridges and build new ones to foster collaborative action. The 2018 ACHI conference theme, Be the Bridge, will guide powerful learning, whether you are fostering connections within your organization or strengthening community relationships.
