Dear ASHHRA Colleagues,

Welcome to February 2021 and Happy Black History Month. February is the month of celebration for achievements by African Americans and their contributions to America. I want to pay homage to all the leaders that have helped to create a pathway for other African American professionals in our profession, and for me.

The COVID-19 recovery road is still in progress, and we see improvement with the facilitation of vaccinations nationwide. There is some apprehension from health care staff about receiving the vaccine, but I encourage people to get vaccinated to reduce the number of people affected by this pandemic. ASHHRA’s COVID-19 page has resources that can help, including the COVID-19 Vaccine Communications Toolkit.

In two months, we will be hosting our second Virtual Conference. April 26 - 27 will be the time for our members to connect, innovate and transform. Be sure to register today at ASHHRA.org/ASHHRA21 so you don’t miss out. I look forward to the conference as a way to recharge my batteries and learn about what hot topics are trending in the field today.

Take care everyone, and stay safe.
