The Annual Conference is starting to take shape. The committee is working hard to establish the schedule. We are very excited to announce Randy Bradley as the keynote speaker. He is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management at Haslam College of Business at The University of Tennessee. As a healthcare supply chain and IT strategist and researcher he will address the impact of current business and supply chain transformation on healthcare Value Analysis in an interactive presentation called ‘From Traditional to Transformed’. More info is forthcoming.

Work teams have been established within the committee to tackle all the tasks needed to provide you with networking and educational experiences. The Program Development team is working to secure a speaker from the FDA to address their recall process. The Supplier Showcase team is working on the enhancing the opportunities to make contact with suppliers and sponsors. The Speaker Coordinator Team will be managing and meeting the needs of the speakers prior to and during the conference. The Hospitality Team is managing the networking opportunities, nourishment and receptions.

Pre-sessions will be offered on Wednesday morning. Those are in progress but expect to see CVAHP Prep Course back this year. There were a number of participants last year that successfully passed the CVAHP exam after attending the course. More info to come on the pre-sessions.

AHVAP has contracted with Axis Medical to provide the continuing education credits for the conference. We are expanding on the electronic feedback and CE distribution process and we are very excited that we will be able to offer CE’s for nurses, physicians, respiratory and laboratory professionals this year.

We will be using the Whova app for the conference as well as Map Dynamics. We used the Whova app in the past and it offers more features for connectivity with registrants and speakers and suppliers. You will be able to communicate with each other and have access to the presentations. It is a fun app. Maybe we will have a little contest using the app.

Lastly the committee would like to encourage you to consider submitting an abstract for presenting at the conference. The submission deadline has been extended to May 1st. If you aren’t interested in presenting, consider a poster presentation. Call for posters is currently open on the website. Share your successes and your failures. We Value Analysis folks like to share rather than reinvent the wheel.

Hope to see you all in October.
