President’s Message (Sue’s News)
Dear AHVAP Members and Affiliates,
Can you believe that it’s July already? Those who work fiscal year July thru June have been working extremely diligently throughout the year to achieve or exceed your organization’s Value Analysis goals and are already currently preparing to identify initiatives for the new fiscal year. Whatever budgetary period you follow, I’m sure you have been working hard in 2021 to make up for increased COVID-19 expenses incurred in 2020 and continuing to incorporate AHVAP’s foundational four pillars (Governance and Structure, Healthcare Value Analysis Methodology, Professionalism and Business Ethics, and Finance) into your practices. Each one of AHVAP’s eight Committees are also driven off these four pillars when developing, incorporating and delivering quality programs to AHVAP members.
Are you experiencing great success and/or surpassing your organization’s goals? What better way than to share your ideas on a national level and get more involved with AHVAP? Try joining one of the eight AHVAP Committees, which is a great way to continue to learn about the organization, the four pillars and network to get more involved with Value Analysis peers. Check out AHVAP Committees at https://www.ahvap.org/page/committees and bring your value to AHVAP!
Value Analysis week is quickly approaching (July19 – 24, 2021) and what a great way to share success or maybe not so successful initiatives to the AHVAP Community. We learn by sharing information, both positive and negative. My organization alone achieved $33.7 million in savings with seven Value Analysis Teams in FY21 and think about if the Value Analysis process wasn’t in place. Would you like to report out your organization’s Value Analysis successes? If so, send your posts to #WeAreValueAnalysis. How do you get your organization actively involved in the Value Analysis process? What types of educational programs have you implemented and do you have a creative program that you would like to share with peers? Reach out to #WeAreValueAnalysis and share the information.
We are also four months away from AHVAP’s National Annual Conference and very excited to be live this year. What a great way to re-connect, attend quality educational sessions and bring forth new opportunities to AHVAP. AHVAP is your Value Analysis organization and how you contribute is how you can make a difference.
With good health,
—Susan A. Toomey, BS, CMRP, CVAHP
