President's Message — Liz’s News
Dear AHVAP Members and Affiliates,
Spring is on the way! March is my favorite month of the year. I love new beginnings, and the transition to spring means flowers bloom, animals awaken, and the Earth seems to come alive again.
Can you believe it has been two years since the start of the pandemic? We all have been watching hospitalizations going down nationwide and mask mandates lift, but the supply chain industry continues to be unstable with raw material shortages and backorders that become an instant priority for us. Our healthcare workers are getting a reprieve from the volume of patients who are sick with COVID-19, but the challenges of staffing and recruitment continue to plague our healthcare systems. It is so amazing to me how quickly our industry can pivot and completely change course in response to patient care needs. I am inspired each day with the resilience of our team members.
The incredible work happening with all the AHVAP Committees and the Region Directors continues. Each of the Committees has set its annual goals to accomplish this year, and they are breaking up the work into subgroups to make the tasks easier to manage. It’s so exciting to see the networking happening at the Region level too! It feels so great to be able to reconnect again! Are you a new member? We will hosting a New Member Orientation with a Live Q & A session to answer all your questions. We are presenting that webinar March 23, 2022, at noon EST. Come and learn all about how to engage with your Region, your District and with the AHVAP community on best practices, tools and all the great educational offerings your AHVAP membership has to offer you and your colleagues.
The Podcast Series and Webinars are scheduled, so be on the lookout for those upcoming event registrations. The AHVAP Website continues to be “under construction,” and we cannot wait to show you all the new enhancements. Thank you to the Website Task Force and to all the AHVAP committee work being performed by these teams. We appreciate your dedication, commitment and continued support to AHVAP.
Please feel free to contact me with recommendations on how we can increase the value of the organization for our members, requests to share experiences or resources, or just to talk. You can reach me by email at Eisenberg.Elizabeth@scrippshealth.org.
Kind Regards,
Elizabeth Eisenberg MSN, RN CVAHP
