Announcement Regarding the AHVAP Western Region Board Director Position

Dear AHVAP Western Region Members and Partners:

Suzanne Smith, who is currently serving as the Regional Director for the Western Region on the AHVAP Board of Directors, has notified me of her resignation from her position effective immediately due to personal reasons. Suzanne and her family are relocating outside of the Western Region. The intent of the Regional Director position is to represent the specific interests and needs of the geography of that area of the country.

On behalf of the AHVAP Board of Directors, I want to sincerely thank Suzanne for her leadership of the Western Region and for her volunteer service to our organization as a volunteer leader. Serving on a national board of directors is a significant time investment, and one that does not go unappreciated. 

In the interim, in accordance with our Association bylaws, I will be appointing a temporary Board Member to fill the few months of the remaining term through December of this year. Based on the strategic needs of the region, I have appointed one of the existing Western Region District 3 Representative's, Erin Arnold, to fill the remainder of this vacant board term. Erin is a tremendous advocate for AHVAP and the healthcare value analysis profession, and I am thankful for her willingness to step up and serve our Association in this interim role. 

AHVAP will be issuing a call for nominations for the national Board of Directors in the next 90 days, and the Western Region board position will be included on this ballot. I am personally working with Suzanne, Erin, and our Executive Director, Dr. Hudson Garrett, on a smooth transition plan to ensure that there is no interruption of member support for the Western region members and partners. 

Thank you, Suzanne, and we wish you the very best of luck on your cross-country move. I look forward to having you as a continued member and supporter of our great Association. 

We have also scheduled a March Regional Huddle Meeting for March 16 at 5 p.m. ET. You will receive a separate invite to attend this meeting from AHVAP HQ.
