Don’t Miss the Future
During President John F Kennedy’s address in the Assembly Hall at the Paulskirche in Frankfurt, June 25, 1963, he said “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future." Over the past few newsletter articles, I have written about courage, growth mindset and vision for the future. AHVAP has experienced an exciting six months, where we have enjoyed amazing positive energy resulting in tremendous membership growth, exciting new member benefits, exceptional member educational webinars, and continued influence and impact on healthcare. Our recent webinar on Candida auris was industry leading and the latest example of the timely response to member request.
Kennedy also shared in Loyola College Alumni Banquet, Baltimore, Maryland, February 18, 1958, “Let us not despair but act. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.” I continue to be energized by comments such as these from visionary leaders and believe this is where we find Value Analysis and AHVAP. We are clearly leading the way for Value Analysis in healthcare and the opportunity for Value Analysis to be part of every decision in our healthcare organizations.
Both quotes demonstrate the wonderful leadership opportunity that AHVAP has in healthcare currently. Value Analysis is one of “tools” and “processes” that is so needed to fortify our industry and place healthcare in a sustainable position. A position where we can confidently look to our future with both great pride and excitement.
As we look forward to an amazing national conference “Tip of the Spear,” I invite you to join us as we grow, continue to develop member offerings, and not only look to our AHVAP future, but create it! In closing, John F Kenney also said, “Hold fast to the best of the past and move faster to the best of the future.” Please join me in courageously moving toward our “AHVAP future.”
