Message from AHVAP President
Dear AHVAP Members,
Hard to believe it is June and summertime already! Children and grandchildren are ending the school year, and I hope you have time to plan a few fun family vacations. AHVAP has been in full growth mode, working hard making enhancements to our member benefits, hosting regional huddles, micro-certification courses, professional development webinars with our industry partners, and preparing for our upcoming annual conference and industry partner expo. I hope you had a chance to submit one of your successful poster projects that included process improvement initiatives or clinically integrated supply chain accomplishments to our annual conference committee during our call for poster presentations that concluded this past month. The Value Analysis community is engaged in so many new governance, financial and savings activities that continue to impress me every day. We are writing new healthcare chapters and paving new pathways for the post pandemic world we live in that will be showcased during the annual conference. I can’t wait!
Most recently, my Value Analysis nurse team has been focused on sustainability and our post-COVID-19 recovery plans with our physician and clinical operations teams. Together, we will complete these sensitive nurse and physician savings initiatives in order to keep our organization positioned to serve our community for a long time without compromising quality patient outcomes. We are having more in-depth conversations with our bedside clinicians and supplier partners related to landfill diversion, fighting climate change, how products move through the supply chain more efficiently, increasing use of reusable products, and reducing carbon, water, and energy emissions. Looking at our value analysis projects through a sharpened environmental and sustainability lens will be included as a standard in our overall Value Analysis review. We all need to think differently and include a new and sustainable approach to how we review new technology for our organizations.
The Professional Development Webinars are scheduled in June, and I hope you get a chance to join us for those upcoming events. We are planning a very exciting Value Analysis week in July so stay tuned for those announcements. I hope you and your teams are planning to celebrate all your hard work and successes this year. Thank you to all the AHVAP committee members for their devotion and hours of volunteer work. We appreciate your dedication, commitment, and continued support of AHVAP. We appreciate you and could not do it without you! Enjoy the beginning of summer, and I will leave you with this inspirational quote from Simon Sinek.
“Weave Your Passion into Your Work” ~ Simon Sinek
Passion is an output of vision. When we feel that our efforts are contributing to a greater purpose, we feel passionate. But we’re not all visionaries, so when we find a vision that resonates with us, our responsibility is to contribute our individual gifts to help bring that vision to life.
Kind Regards,
Elizabeth Eisenberg, MSN, RN, CVAHP™
