Message from AVHAP Treasurer

Quiz time: What do each of these roles have in common? Value Analysis Director, Supply Chain Coordinator, GPO Sourcing Specialist, Regional Director, Account Manager, Senior Sales Director, Physician, Consultant, Infection Preventionist, and Supply Chain Analyst. Regardless of the job title, each of the abovementioned roles can become a member of AHVAP. While each specialty performs a specific function in healthcare delivery, they all work together for the patient’s good, and AHVAP can help support this vital work.

Hearing a potential member’s needs sparked my thoughts this month. This person needed support, education and tools. They were mistakenly under the impression that due to their title and employer, they did not qualify for membership and wished they did. While we corrected this belief, I wonder how many others are under this impression. Who else could benefit from our organization but don’t think they can join? This is where we rely on our members. Each and every one of us is an ambassador to the organization. AHVAP provides its members access to support, education and resources, and it is up to each of us to ensure this message reaches those who need us most.
